Mary Wells, Executive Director of Catholic Family Services of Durham (CFSD), is taking on a new position as Executive Director of Mosaic Counselling and Family Services in Kitchener in March 2010. “My experience with CFSD has been so happy, it’s been a special privilege to have been part of its growth with so many creative initiatives in our community” says Mary, who has been Executive Director since November 2004.

Maria Vasanelli, President of the Board of Directors, speaking on behalf of staff and the Board, expresses our appreciation to Mary for her leadership and direction on behalf of the agency. “We are grateful for Mary’s valued contributions to the growth of our agency within Durham Region, which services and supports individuals and families through professional counseling, prevention and family life education programs, working collaboratively with other community organizations. Under Mary’s leadership CFSD developed and facilitated workshops supporting Durham Region workers and their families affected by the recent economic downturn. All of us at CFSD wish Mary all the best in her new role.”

Elizabeth Pierce, Senior Counselling Program Manager, will be the interim Executive Director while the Board carries out its search regarding a new Executive Director. Elizabeth’s knowledge of the agency, her professionalism and leadership gifts will ensure a smooth transition with services and programs continuing as usual.
